Would love to see characters develop traits
The idea came to me as I played Total War Warhammer 2. The characters in the game get little traits, nothing terribly in response to certain actions. I would love to see the same concept within this particular game.
For example:
Does your character prefer certain actions or spells more than other actions? The character should acquire an expert attribute that reduces the cost of casting for the particular action or spell. It will make it feel more customizable during the game. Let's say that it cost 10 energy to cast this spell. Then it will cost you 8-9 energy. A small change that rewards your playing style.
Do you think your sorceress prefers the cold spells over the fire ones? Perhaps they gain an extra 5 percent chance of freezing enemies when they gain the ability.
Does your druid like switching into a particular animal more than other? You can gain an additional 5 damage each time you fight through that transformation.
It could also apply to buffing traits too. It could be that a certain kind of enemy is causing you to die more than other types or is doing more damage than other types of enemies. You may develop a characteristic that makes you more fearful when confronting the enemy. This would give you an increase of 5% to be unable to hit your target.
They could be reset after death to make it appear less permanent, or be 10 minute temporary buffs in lieu of characteristics that stay for a long time.
I'm just jotting down ideas about that I think could be a cool and innovative feature in the Diablo game. I believe it could bring more style and replay value because even if you play the game using an identical character your experience may be different based on the actions you make.
