Elden Ring: Ansbach's Boots

Ansbach's Boots are a leg armor piece introduced in Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. They belong to Ansbach's Set, which includes the Wise Man's Mask, Ansbach's Attire, Ansbach's Manchettes, and Ansbach's Boots. These boots slightly enhance Blood Oath and dynastic skills by approximately 3%, making them ideal for players focusing on blood-based or dynastic attacks. There are two main ways to obtain Ansbach's Boots, depending on the choices made in Ansbach's questline:

Where to Get Ansbach's Boots

Option 1: Shadow Keep - Early Acquisition (Ends Ansbach's Questline)

Turn Leda Against Ansbach

Progress through Needle Knight Leda's questline by assisting her in defeating Hornsent in the Shadow Keep. Alternatively, summon Hornsent to help defeat Messmer the Impaler. After completing this step, speak to Leda at the Highland Cross Site of Grace to learn of her intent to confront Ansbach. If she doesn't mention her plans, rest at a nearby site of grace and try talking to her again.

Prepare Ansbach for Departure

Engage with Ansbach at the Shadow Keep Specimen Storehouse, First Floor. To trigger his departure, you'll need to give him the Secret Rite Scroll. Before doing so, talk to Freyja on the Seventh Floor Site of Grace in the Storehouse and exhaust her dialogue. Then, inform Ansbach of Freyja's decision.

Red Summon Sign - Assist Leda

After turning Leda against Ansbach, revisit the First Floor of the Specimen Storehouse. You'll find two summon signs near Ansbach's location—a red sign to help Leda in fighting Ansbach and a gold sign to ally with Ansbach. Using the Red Summon Sign will end Ansbach's questline, and reward you with Ansbach's Boots and the rest of his armor set, along with Ansbach's Longbow. Note that this will prevent you from later obtaining the Obsidian Lamina.

Option 2: Enter-Ilim - Post-Questline Acquisition

If you choose not to end Ansbach's questline early in the Shadow Keep, you can still acquire Ansbach's Boots in the final area of the DLC:

Complete Ansbach's Questline

Progress through the story until you reach Enir-Ilim, the legacy dungeon located near the Gate of Divinity Site of Grace. Clear this area and defeat the DLC's final boss.

Pick Up the Boots

After defeating the boss, head to the east of the Gate of Divinity Site of Grace, where you'll find Ansbach near a stone wall. A glowing item at his feet will contain Ansbach's Boots, the rest of his armor, and the Obsidian Lamina.

Tips for Navigating the Questline

Refresh Dialogue: Be sure to rest at various Sites of Grace to refresh dialogue with NPCs like Freyja, Leda, and Ansbach. This can open up new dialogue options and advance quests.

Check Quest Items: Make sure you acquire key Elden Ring items, such as the Secret Rite Scroll and the Letter for Freyja, as they are essential for progressing the storyline and influencing character decisions.

Choose Your Summon Sign Carefully: Using the red summon sign in Shadow Keep ends Ansbach's questline early, while leaving the choice for later in Enir-Ilim giving a chance to collect the full reward, including the Obsidian Lamina.

Ansbach's Boots provide a small but valuable boost to specific skills, making them particularly useful for players who rely on Blood Oath abilities.
